I want a device with no cell signal in when I'm in a wifi area (school & home)

I know I could always put my iPhone 4 in airplane mode...

But I got some extra money. Should I just get the iPod touch?

Do you mind if I ask exactly why? You can always, like you said, turn on airplane mode, or you can potentially just turn off 3G data. The iPod really does nothing different then the iPhone besides the fact that it can not receive the cell service. And at school and home wouldn't you have your iPhone with you anyway? So what's the point of carrying two devices?

I'm just curious as to why you would want an iPod for Wifi purposes.

Please don't laugh or say it's not going to but

I'm just afraid of cell signal waves. Heard a lot on the news about cancer & I don't want to risk anything.

I don't want to start a discussion on this thread about cancer though.

I just want to know whether it would be worth buying an iPod Touch or just use iPhone in airplane mode.

Thanks

Hypothetically if you have the phone in airplane mode then the cell antennas are disabled = no cancer waves.

I would take the money you'd spend on an iPod touch and buy a roll of aluminum foil and a bunch of iTunes stuff.

So you are ok with wifi signals, radio signal etc, but no no to cell signals.

I would keep the iPhone 4 and put it In airplane mode. It has a better display, camera, microphone.

Put it in airplane mode. There's a bunch of apps and cases that only work on the iphone and not the ipod touch.

Why not get something new like a galaxy S phone or music player, a droid x, or droid 2 global?

So are you still using the iPhone 4 as a phone? If not, then sell it for $400-500 bucks and get an iPod touch and pocket the difference.

Just use it as an iPod. That's crazy to buy another device for music purposes when the iPhone already does all that.

How does the saying go, a fool and his money...

Guess I am a fool then, cause I have every apple product out there! :D

I feel the iphone 4 votes. Just put it in airplane mode. I bought my iphone 4 today because I was carrying two devices and just got sick of it.

Ah...now my ipod touch 4G is going to get lonely. :p

What about satellite , TV, wifi, radio, transmission lines, cosmic rays, fluorescent lights, picture tubes, microwaves, not to mention the ozone layer??

A long roll of aluminum foil wrapped around your head or any other sensitive parts 3 or 4 times should help......
