It says I should when I try to do it so I got afraid that it might affect the quality of the music at certain volumes perhaps. But there is a lot of music and I don't have a External Harddrive. Which harddrive do you recommend? I heard that sometimes harddrive can become out of order even when it's not damaged, causing irrevocable loss of data.

No, I would not. Based off what the web site that is from makes it seem quite risky, plus if it still doesn't work with iTunes Plus(which is now all of iTunes) you might be screwed(if you buy from there)

Get an external HDD, they're great and you'd have the ability to have back up at all times.
