iPhone X Should I use Phobio for my iPhone X trade in or use another service?

Last time Phobio was extremely stressful.

i believe this is what apple uses for their trade ins.

They said the iPhone never arrived and that it was an empty box.

I put the iPhone in the box so I was pretty shocked.

to their credit they eventually gave the money because I think it was a theft issue.

But this time I might just use another service.

That service said my trade in was worth 110$. Then changed to zero
A perfect no scratch 6splus. Absolutely perfect. They blow

I agree with "dontwalkhand" - STAY AWAY from Phobio. In my opinion, they are actively doing bait and switch by offering 3 - 4x the amount for your device only to reduce it by 75%. I took photos and video of the screen front and back, video and photos wiping the drive and packing at FedEx. They will not respond to my multiple emails asking for proof of "damaged pixels and damage related to the display screen." I offered to send photos, no answer. I asked to speak with a rep, no answer.

They reduced the reply date from 14 days to 7 days to 1 day within a few days. So, instead of having until the 18th to reply, I now have to let them know by tomorrow. Where did the week go???

I called Apple and spoke with a rep who is looking into it, but sadly I don't think they can do anything. In my opinion, Apple must know this is an issue and really doesn't care. HORRIBLE company, stay far far away!!!!

I contacted Phobio about my 32 gig iPAD Pro and they quoted me $180. When it got there they changed the quote to $0 saying there was screen damage (missing pixels). I requested the device be returned. It was and I plugged it in , started it up and I cannot see a single thing wrong. I gave it to a church for use and they are thrilled with it. I will not be using Phobio again.

Similar experience here. Got an online quote of $380 for a 2015 MacBook Pro in great shape. They emailed me and said they revised the offer to $140 due to screen damage and sent a pic in the email that showed nothing but their flash on the screen. Had them return it to me. The screen is fine. Gave it to my middle schooler to use for school papers😒

I have used Mac Me an Offer for several iPhones and iPads over the last 7 years and have always had a great experience. They have been in business since 1995 and give you a quote (which is usually much higher than the other services) and send you the shipping label. They have always issued a check for the entire quote and there has never been a question. They sell the items on their website Mac of All Trades.

Same experience as several of you with Phobio ... got a $270 quote for my iPad which was about 2 1/2 yrs old...sent it in and as soon as they got it they sent me an updated quote for $0 with a litany of “issues”. Sent it back to me without my charger cord. It works fine to me! Extremely disappointed.

You're better off selling it on eBay. Apple and Phobio will rip you off. I had similar experiences with Phobio devaluing my MacBook Pro due to "Delaminating or Worn Display Coating". All they sent was a close-up image of the screen taken with flash. The condition of the screen looked much worse than what I sent in. There was no indication that it was even the laptop I sent in.
