Should I use "Striped RAID" or "Concatenated RAID"?

I have a MacMini Server and I want to RAID the two internal 500GB drives into one. I don't want them mirroring, just one 1TB drive but unsure which is best for performance. I have an external 2TB for backs so I have backups of the 1TB covered.

I googled around and still not sure which option is best before I go ahead and install a new OS.

Concatenated is not real RAID and won't improve the performance that much. Use striped RAID, it is the same as RAID 0.
