I have 2011 macmini, basic version, just upgrade to 8G ram,I'd like to install windows 8 pro and visual studio 2012 for web developing.virtual box is easy to install windows 8 but not sure performance, boot camp is other choice,so please advice.

Also,I would like to buy 256G ssd in the future,is it good enough for running both lion os and windows 8 on my macmini.

thanks in advance.

If you were a hard core gamer or video editor needing native Windows, I'd say BootCamp....

But since your are doing web development, I'd say virtualbox 100%

For most uses, VMs are plenty fast. There's the added benefit of not having to reboot to switch environments.

If you add a SSD, even better.

My 2011 MacBook Air with Windows 7 in a VM killed my friends 2011 (non SSD) ultrabook Window 7 in the "Experience test/benchmark".

Regardless if you add a SSD, I think virtualbox is the way to go, for your uses.
