iPod touch Should I wait for iPod Touch 3rd gen?

Wait for what? The 3rd gen is out. Get it if you want to but I thought the 2nd gen only went to 32 GB.

I mean it is the 3G, whether or not there is a 3.5G is another question.

It depends on what your needs and desires are and your current situation. I don't really find myself using the camera on my iPhone, but I imagine it differs for everyone.

This is the 3rd Gen.
Unless you call the 3G , iPhone 3G Improved. (I'm trying to say, it's different.)

Just go for it, or you'll get killed by waiting at least 7 months for the suspected new ones.

It may also be due to the fact that there were two versions, the "3G" 8 GB, which is really just a second gen with 3.1.1 loaded, and the 3G 32/64 GB models.

The firmware call the new ipod touch the ipod3,1 si this is difinetly the third generation ipod...

Umm... no, it doesn't. The iPhone --> iPhone 3G was a major upgrade and the number hardly changed.
