I'm looking to get my first actual contract cell phone (I've just had prepaid ones before) and I've pretty much decided on the iPhone. I'm able to go ahead and sign up and buy the phone now, but with the iPhone 5 (probably) coming in September, I was wondering if it was smart to go ahead and buy the iPhone 4 now or wait for the iPhone 5 to maybe be released this year.

Advice please :D

There will very likely be an iPhone 5 in September. I would recommend waiting. If you buy the iPhone 4 tomorrow, you'll kick yourself in 3 months when the iPhone 5 comes around with brand new features and as a much more powerful phone altogether. Don't make the mistake of paying much more than the iPhone 4 is worth right now, when you can pay the same amount and get the iPhone 5. I think that would be the smart thing to do, but i guess it's relative.
So wait, patience is a virtue.
