I noticed that my iPhone 7 only vibrates once when I first plug it into a power adapter. All of my previous iPhones do a double vibration when plugged into a power adapter (even the ones that run iOS 10). Is this something new?

The 6s when on vibrate, it vibrates twice.

The 7 when on vibrate, vibrates once.

The iPhone 7 has a different Taptic Engine from the 6s.

Ultimately as long as it starts charging that's basically good enough.

Right. But the OP and others don't know the iPhone 7 actually has a much stronger and improved Taptic Engine over the 6s, which was also possible through removing the 3.5 Jack. Hence, different charging feedback features when on vibrate.

This was actually one of the first things I noticed about my iPhone 7, as I plugged it in immediately after setting it up.
However, I assumed it was simply a subtle change, and didn't feel the need to question it.

Me either. I guess we are not as intimate with our iPhones as some. :)

I noticed it. Then again, I like to research different tech hardware when it comes to iPhones. It is a completely more robust Taptic Engine.
