Can it do this? My dock is on autohide and it would be nice to see this whenever I get new email. Every other application I have seems to spaz out on the dock unless I tend to it.

Should Mail app "bounce" when new mail?

If you go into mail preferenes and then into 'Rules'.
Click on 'add rule' and you can then make the dock icon bounce when any new mail arrives.

Well, that does indeed work but...
I can only see the bouncing icon when the dock is unhidden by moving my mouse to the bottom to pop it up.
I wonder why it just doesn't bounce with the dock hidden like all the other apps (like software update and my downloads folder).
