i have noticed my fan rpm and temp is very high is this normal ? oh and the temp is set at Celsius

What temperature sensor is it reporting? My early 2008 iMac has 12 of the bad boys, and most of them sit above 45ºC during normal use.

Looks like the fan is going haywire, though. Again, which fan is that?

First, as noted by BlueRevolution, if that's the CPU temperature it's not hight at all; most CPUs are good to at least 70C, and 45C is well within the normal range. Certainly, my MBP CPU is usually well above that.

Second, 999RPM isn't high at all. Depends a lot on the model, but iMac fan speeds around 1200RPM are common, and again, most laptop fans have 2000RPM as a minimum; mine usually sits at at least 4500RPM.

If your fan speed monitor (I don't recognize that screenshot) is maxing out at 999RPM it's just broken software.
