Should my wireless charger stay warm when it's done charging?

I got this cool Millennium Falcon wireless charging pad, but I've noticed that even when the phone has been finished charging for quite a while it stays noticeably warm. I assume this means power transfer is still taking place, and it worries me that the charger could be trying to cram more into the device when it's already full.

Same thing happens with my AirPods 3 case.

Or is this normal behavior? I don't know for sure.
