I have a 2007 Macbook (one of the old white ones) with a 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 2GB of RAM. Right now, I'm running Snow Leopard on the machine. If I were to install Mavericks on this computer, how fast would things run in comparison to Snow Leopard? I think I might want to do it, if the speed difference would be negligible, but it'd be a pretty big hassle to go through just to find out my computer now runs slow as molasses.

You can't install 10.9 on that machine. The latest version of Mac OS X you can install is 10.7.
