Should tech companies have better servers?

Should tech companies like O2, Verizon etc have better servers in place to deal with launch days for new products.

I have spoken to several people like myself who wasted hours clicking refresh in their browsers this morning.

All I was getting was error messages and come back later pages.

A (slightly) cynical reply would be why should they - extra server capacity costs a lot of money and if it's only needed for a few days a year then they'd struggle to get a return on investment.

At the end of the day, people will suck it up and still buy the phones so it's win-win for them!
