I have recently unchecked the "Automaitcally allow built-in software to receive incoming connections" under the firewall settings in MacOS Catalina so that i have better control over my security on my Macbook Pro and within a day i have received 3 notifications about 3 types of services that are requesting incoming connections and whether i should allow or deny, the services are: rapportd, gamed and netbiosd, Are these basically apple services that need to receive incoming connections in order for macos to function properly?

Thanks in advance

I don't know what rapportd and gamed are doing. But netboisd probably has to do with network file sharing with Windows machines. If you don't need to have Windows machines connecting to your Mac for file sharing, then you shouldn't need to worry about netbiosd.

So I’ve done some ready on these processes and they all appear to be built in Apple processes in OSX that are responsible for the proper functionality of the various features offered in MacOS so I think I’ll allow all 3 to accept connections
