im trying to hide my outgoing caller id (so that if I call a landline for example, their caller id says "wireless caller" instead of my account name)

Everything I read suggests that this is a setting under Settings>Phone>Show caller ID

However, that setting is missing on my 6S running 9.0.2.... If I search for it, it appears in the settings search results, but is still missing from the actual settings pane even when I click the search results

Any ideas? Is it that Verizon doesn't allow this?

It may be a Verizon thing, that I don't know since that option is still available to me with T-Mobile and iOS 9.02. But I can tell you that anyone calling me and not showing caller ID does not get their call answered. o_O
