Is there any application that shows when a file was created all the way down to the seconds?:confused:

there is. its called the finder

Go into system prefs->international->formats.

Customize the the short format in the times section.

Now the date modified and created in the finder´s list view should display seconds as well

I feel a little stupid, can't find any "international" option to chose in the system preferences. Maybe it's because it's not 2008 anymore? :) How do I find that option on Mac OSX 10.8.5?

It would be awesome if somebody could help me out with that, 'cause it would save me from losing track of some important files which sadly is happening at the moment… :(

System Preferences -> Language & Region, click Advanced, Times tab. This is for 10.9.3

Wow this is a great tip! I've often been annoyed at the lack of seconds in the file modified/created times.
