Show extended file info on files on shared drive?

Hello all,

I'm running OSX 10.5.xxx. I notice that when in the "Get info" screen on an MP3 file which is stored on my local harddrive, I see all this nice information, such as bit rate and stereo mode of the MP3 file. However, I cannot see this information when the file is stored on my fileserver (Linux Samba server).

How can I get OSX to always display this info, no matter where the file is stored?
