Show number of files in folders with Lion?

How do you get an open folder to display the number of items within that folder in Lion?

In previous versions this would be displayed at the bottom of the folder, along with the amount of available space left on the disc etc.

Hit Cmd-/ to bring it back up, or View -> Show Status Bar.
