Interested in seeing everyone’s AirTags!
Mostly curious to see how the scratches have developed depending on where you have them and how often you use them. I’ll go first!
For a control, I’ll start with my newest tag. I’ve activated it, but never removed it from its plastic. No scratches here.
Next is the AirTag that used to sit in my drone bag. Never really left the bag and wasn’t exposed, so it’s my most pristine of the unwrapped ones. I think I put it in my bag and never took it back out. I should note it was in a pocket with an SD card, so that could have put some small scratches in.
Third is my backpack tag, which like the drone bag, has spend the majority of its life in the inside pocket of my backpack. I’ve taken this one out a fair few times just out of boredom.
Fourth is my luggage, which is affixed to the handle using a silicone luggage tag. I’ve both checked and carried this suitcase on the plane, but I don’t travel too much. I think it’s actually doing pretty well considering!
And lastly, my keys. This tag is on my keychain using an Apple branded key ring. It’s constantly in direct contact with my keys, and certainly looks the part. The key ring hasn’t held up well either, and actually has deep gouges and cuts in the leather. Still works great though!
I’ll be getting more AirTags eventually as I’ll be buying a new bike and some other toys down the line to track, so I’ll be interested to see how those hold up. For now though, all I’ve got is the 5.
