When I view the Photos app on my iPhone or on the MacBook Pro it shows all the photos - ones which are there in WhatsApp too.
How do I filter to see only photos taken from the camera ? I have taken only about 100 clicks but I can't seem to search for mine alone.

It can’t be done automatically.
You’re going to have to put all your own photos in a separate album manually all the time then search through that folder when you want to find your photo you actually took.

Back when I used WhatsApp - it created an Album folder called: WhatsApp. When I realized that by default WhatsApp was saving all the photos people sent me, I was able to go here and wipe out that album (and all the photos in it). It's easier to do this on a Mac than an iPhone but ... that's how I got rid of my WhatsApp photos.

You can turn off auto-saving photos in WhatsApp settings.

It's been a while since I did anything like this...but I bet you could create a Smart Album that contains all photos that are not in the WhatsApp album. Call it "my photos".

Just ignore the ones from WhatsApp. Or do you save every single one you get?
All WhatsApp photos get saved in my photos. I don't want to delete the WhatsApp photos either.
But how do I save a photo on click to a specific album automatically ? It has to be done manually ? I want to avoid moving every photo clicked to an album as sometime I click fast.

Quickest way on your iPhone would be adding the photos to your favorites by tapping the heart icon. Or maybe you can make/download a shortcut to automatically save pictures from the camera in a specific album.
