Thought this might be cool to see what everyone has on their Ipod Touch

I have three full length DVD's (40yr Old Virgin, iRobot, and Core (which is in high quality, the rest are... eh, ok)). The rest are mostly music videos and episodes, they average about 10 minutes in length. Then I have all my songs, which are encoded in MP3 (purchased songs burned to cd and re-placed in my library, so no DRM. And all my photos are photos I took with my camera, are pictures of cars gotten from www.netcarshow.com and pictures of the ladies (hehe, gotta love em, c'mon guys!).

2.6GB available? How? I've been at ~35MB (if I put anymore on, even if there is still like 20MB left, it won't let me put any pictures on) empty space since I got it! Does anyone else have that problem? It won't ever let me fill my iPod :(

in the videos, i have 7 full length movies at alright quality (420x200-300 @666 bit rate)

i'm nervous about filling the rest of it up as i'm not sure what i want...hopefully i'll be getting an influx of new music soon, and the rest will be videos (if any space left)

usually how big realistically should a whole movie file be , i have some that are 300mb and some that are over 1 gig ?

Depends on how long it is, how you encode it, etc. If you encode it in high quality, so it will look OK on a video out to your TV, and it's 2 hours long, it will probably sit at around a gig.

If you encode it lower so it will look great on your touch, but bad on a TV, probably 500-600MB

If you make it look crappy to save space, down to 300ish.


Those are some rough estimates.....

mind you I have 85% of all Metallica Videos ripped @ the highest Bitrate possible, some Star Trek Episodes and such,.. my videos are big, but quality is awesome and having them on the Touch display makes them look gorgeous. :)
