Since more of us are spending time at home, and we all have very different situations for space, furniture, gear and style, I would love to see what all of you are doing.
I'll share first. Since we don't have room in our house right now for a dedicated office until a couple of our children move out, the "office desk" is shared, and in our master bedroom. So it's desk where the surface folds down, and then we can close it and hide everything away. So, that means all I have is a "hole" in the middle to stash everything. Since I use pro/creative apps, and need more GPU horsepower, that adds more gear to have to cram in there.
So in this small space, I've got:
- 2019 13" MBP i7/16GB/512GB
- Dell 27 inch monitor on an arm with a speaker attached to the bottom of the monitor
- Sonnet Breakaway Box 550 eGPU with AMD 5600XT card via Thunderbolt 3
- Sonnet Echo Thunderbolt 2 dock, with two internal SSDs for high speed/high capacity for editing video and working on After Effects projects and large web design projects, and additional USB 3, gigabit Ethernet, and eSATA ports
- cable modem and gigabit network switch are hidden behind that
- Just up to the right in another "nook" are my mirrored eSATA RAID (connected via eSATA to the Thunderbolt dock), and my Drobo 5 bay backup storage
I can't wait for an actual office space, and a more open desk and layout (which I much prefer), but for now, everything I need is tucked away in a pretty compact, but usable space. It's not super trendy, but I'm still grateful.
What about all of you?
