Okay, I think I know the way to handle this one, but I just wanted to know if there was a better way of handling this...
Basically, I have an iBook G4, which has a measly 40gb HD. Problem is, I have a nice bunch of photos (about the 10gb mark at the moment) and this is only going to get bigger.
What I would like, if the ability to carry around a reduced size library on my iBook (but still have all my photos, you never know when you are going to need to show an obscure one off!), whilst leaving a full resolution back up on my external hard drive. Backing up is not the issue, I just copy the iPhoto Library file and paste it on my external hard drive.
But what I would like to do now, is reduce the size of my portable iPhoto library. At the moment, the only way I can see this happening is selected all my Events, and going to 'Export'. I would then change the settings and hit the button... I might even do it at event at a time, might be easier to keep my Events organised.
I would then delete all the photos in my iBook library, and import the new smaller ones...
So. Is this a good idea? Any better way of doing it?
