Ok, thanks. I read through the FAQ on TinyUmbrealla's website and didn't see anything saying that you can't actually use the blobs on a 4s device when IOS 5.1 comes out. I think that notice should be featured prominently.
I've never been worried about messing around with some of the innards of my device because I thought I could always restore to 5.0.1 and re-jailbreak. But you're telling me that if 5.1 comes out tomorrow and I want to restore to 5.0.1 that I will not be able to and that my current 5.0.1 blobs are worthless until some jailbreak dev finds a way to use them?

From what I understand theres no way to downgrade with shsh something to do with ios5 from what I understand. Someone correct me if I'm wrong..

Currently there is no way to use the blobs to stitch a custom ipsw or anything similar to that since there is no bootrom exploit available for the 4S.
You cant use a userland exploit to replay the shsh blob since Apple made that harder with the release of 5.0
So it is good that you have them but if 5.1 comes out tomorrow and somehow a package on cydia doesnt install or update right and you get stuck at the apple logo you will only be able to restore to the latest firmware that's out and not to 5.0.1 even if you have blobs saved.

the only reason we are saving blobs is encase we able to one day use them. The Cat is a ahead for the moment in the cat mouse game.
