I tried the make my life easier button on the iphone4 a few days ago but for some reason it says I have 4.0.2 on file when I'm running 4.0.1. I did this with my 3GS after 4.0.2 was released but my shsh still went through for 4.0.1 any ideas.

Your shsh is not on your phone but on apples server.
If u did it after 4.0.2 came out then the only shsh you can get is 4.0.2
The 4.0.1 is not released any more.

If you need a basic primer on how and what hashes are, I recommend reading any of the other existing threads here about this. Should do the trick.

This has been answer plenty of time. Next time, please use search feature. Anyway, whatever SHSH hashes that could be saved has to do with what Apple is currently signing, now 4.0.2, and nothing to do with what firmware your phone is on. For some reason, there was time, Apple was signing both 4.0.1 & 4.0.2. Thus, you were able to get both at same time. Probably, why it work for your 3GS. No longer the case and why it's different with your iPhone 4.

Thank guys I figured apple stopped signing 4.0.1. I guess I just made it with my 3GS.
