For some reason it just won't save the 6.0.2 SHSH for my iPad mini... I click save shsh, it flashes, then no change. I even tried requesting them via cydia and that didn't work.

Apple quit signing the 6.0.1 and 6.0.2 firmware very quickly after 6.1 was released (the shortest overlap ever - it was like 60 minutes)
That is why you could not save them if you waited until after about 2:30-2:45 EST.

And people wonder why we warn them to move to 6.1 now, rather than waiting for the jailbreak or in the event 6.1.1 drops very quickly and then they can't jailbreak
