If you have a 2nd generation shuffle, you might want to stay away from the firmware update. I have a blue one and the upgrade changed the LED status light behavior. It used to turn solid orange after syncing and stay that way until it is completely charged up when it turned solid green. Now it turns solid green right after the syncing, so I cannot tell whether it is charged up. I don't like this at all.

There is another post in the Apple discussion forums. Your mileage may vary, but I'd stay away from the update unless you suffer from some bugs that you hope this firmware will fix.

Solution!!!

I just found this out. In case you want to go back to 1.0.2 firmware, Google "iPod shuffle restore utility". That will get you back to the old firmware.

This is different than "restore" button in iTunes, which retains the new firmware.
