My first Gen shuffle broke and i was forced to buy a 3rd gen shuffle. As im sure most of you know the device does not have any controls on it. Using the apple supplied ear buds were not an option for me as i use my shuffle with a helmet that has built in ear phones. I simply run a mini jack cable from the shuffle to the helmet.
This left me with a problem, how am i going to control the music while snowboarding?
you can click the shuffle to shuffle and it will go but it leaves you without on the fly pause, skip, or volume.
i found Scosche's TapSTICK

its not cheap but its just what the doctor ordered. This controller fits the shuffle like a glove and gives you clear, simple controls that stand up to modest elements, can be controlled with a glove and operate the shuffle easily and simplistically.
it sucks to have to buy a $30 add on to control a $55 apple device cause apple left the controls off of it, but i was left with really no other real option.
Ive been using this combo on the mountain for at least 8 riding days so far.
two thumbs up.
