I heard that a local electronics store was lobbing out 512MB Shuffles for 59 euros a piece and I came up with an idea that it would be a a nice keychain memory and a panic music device when I'm bored out of my skull and my iPod is either home or in Holland getting fixed (but that's a different story). I even noticed that I can make a small container in the keychain for my Sony earbuds (EX71, need to get EX81's for main use then) so I'd have keychain with mp3-listening capabilities.

The only thing I'm wondering right now is that how well does the Shuffle hold charge when it's not used? Can it stay (fairly) alive for weeks or would I have to recharge my keychain every evening?

Oh, and if anyone has experience how the battery faires against nordic winter conditions (-10'C and so on) all the better.
