iPod Shuffle with Hi-Fi

I can't get my shuffle to work with my Hi-Fi. It sounds like the suffle is skipping. The shuffle works fine with headphones and the cable I use for the Hi-Fi is the same as the one I'm using for my TV to Hi-Fi and that works fine. Just not with the Shuffle. Anyone have any suggestions?

Well this involves buying another part, but I believe Kensington (don't quote me, not exactly sure of the company) makes an iPod Shuffle USB to Dock Connector sort of thing. Check out iLounge. I saw a review there.
