I had my shure's for idk 3 years or so and had no problems but the other day i went into NYC and took my ipod and plugged in my headphones and notice that the right ear volume wasn't as loud as the left. I'm still able to hear sound through it but its very faint compared to the left and noticeable when listening to music.
What do you think is wrong? I looked at the wires and don't see anything...
If i do need headphones i was thinking of the ultimate ears super.fi 4; V moda vibe, or another pair of shure's i see they come out with new model in march that i could wait for. Or any other brands/models. (PS i don't have an iphone so i don't need/want the microphone function. )

Your phones are probably fine. The problem is likely earwax buildup. These types of headphones require occasional cleaning, unlike over-the-ear models. I've had the same thing happen to my e4c's. You're dealing with such small drivers and acoustic paths that even a tiny amount wax can make a huge difference in sound output.

Start here for cleaning advice.

i took a look and they seem clean. I saved the packing stuff and don't have that stick thingy to clean so i guess my options are to send them in or get a new pair. I'm leaning towards a new pair...
any suggestions?
