iPod touch shure e4cs VS Apple new in-ear phones

My shure e4cs are starting to look battered after 4 years of constant use. Do you guys think the new apple in ears will sound better than the the Shures? I love my shures...but don't know if I'd want to shell out the same money for them again if I can get good quality from the apples for half the price.

not even close. the shures are expensive, but for me, well worth the price.

I doubt it but wait for Head Fi, amongst others, to get their hands on a pair. I also love my Shure e4cs. One of the cables is looking a bit suspect though.

The Shures are also old technology as well tho right? Shouldn't something made in 04/05 not be as good as the current top of the line earbud from apple?

New technology doesn't always mean better. Apple could have used less expensive, lower quality material while the shures uses higher end material. Its kind of like saying 2004 porsche 911 would lose to a 2009 ford mustang because it has older technology in it.
