I have been trying Shure's ShurePlus MOTIV Video app on my Touch 6 with an MV88 microphone. The documentation claims it's compatible with the Touch 5 & 6 — and it is.
My primary interest is that the MV88 microphone requires a headphone jack and one of the MOTIV apps if you want to monitor audio in real time as you record or vary the stereo spread from the default. Otherwise, it will work with most audio and video apps.
Good news: The app works pretty well to set up and record. The stereo audio locks with video perfectly.
Bad news: If you don't have Photos enabled and sharing to other Apple devices, there is no way to retrieve any videos you create with it. iTunes sharing does not work (unlike the MOTIV AUDIO app). Battery life while using the app is horrible (I think–trying to figure out a workaround). The documentation for renaming, saving and retrieving videos is flat out wrong.
I've been working with Shure to overcome a couple of issues, especially the documentation. It's fine for setup and hasn't a clue once you hit Stop.

BTW, can we keep all the bs comments about the removal of the headphone jack out of this? If there is a lot of that nonsense, I will not bother following up with my results.
I also have Zoom iQ stereo mics but those have a major issue with the Zoom Handy Recorder app in iOS 12.1. It doesn't record at all in iOS 12.1 and mono only in 12.1.2 on my iPhones. Like the MOTIV apps for Shure mics, Handy Recorder is required to access all the features of the iQ including real time monitoring through their built-in headphone jacks.
