I always end up wanting to shut down my Mac at a particular time. You can do this from System Preferences, but it will only work if your Mac is not sleeping and basically if you have, say Transmission, open, then user action is required.
So I've created this tool which works in background (you don't see it in your dock), and will shut down/reboot your Mac without asking you anything.

PS: Pressing cmd+alt+c will spawn the app's window.
