i know i can start the screen saver by usin a hot corner and i know i can set the monitor to turn off after so many minutes.
is there a way to turn off the monitor but leave the computer running (to save battery) any freeware or scripts to do this?
thanks

You basically have to wait until the energysaver settings turn off the screen. Remember you can have the energysaver shut the screen down well before it puts the system to sleep.

Or you can do what some people do - if the system is plugged in, sleep the display, but don't sleep the system. The main reason to sleep the system is to prevent the battery from totally draining itself.
