This issue started about the time I put HS on my 2014 MBP 15". I cannot say for sure it's HS, but the timing is suspect.

If I run on AC power, the machine is fine. However, if I close the lid, go on battery power and go to a meeting, it will randomly shut down within 2-10 minutes. No errors, no nothing, screen just goes black. I can hear the fans spin up after that for about 15 seconds, then the power goes off. Battery tests fine.

I went ahead and did a clean install of HS (boot from USB, wipe HD partition, etc). I have reset PRAM, SMC, etc. The problem persists. Machine passes all the built-in diagnostics, and this weekend I took it to Apple and let them run their advanced diagnostics and stress test overnight, they found nothing wrong.

I created a new profile, and it happens to that one as well. However, if I boot in Safe Mode, it'll run fine on battery power with no shutdowns.

I have HS on two other Macs (not the same model) with VMWare Fusion and Junos Pulse VPN, the only two out of the ordinary pieces of software, and they don't do this.

Just curious if anyone else has seen this on HS? I could wipe and go back to Sierra and test, but that's such a PITA. I have enrolled in the beta and just installed 10.13.1 B5 this morning, so maybe something will improve with this, who knows :)

Thanks!
