All of a sudden, yesterday my Tibook400, running the latest panther, started acting strangely. The shutdown prompt suddenly appears and then I'll click cancel...until it finally shuts down by itself. Do you think the power button is stuck? I don't know what to do? Has anyone had this problem before???

Thanks!!

i have a similar problem with my newer PB (15" 1.25ghz 10.3.4) and I get the prompt whenever I wake it from sleep or connect via S-Video/DVI to an external.

The cancel button still responds for me though, also it did this with Jaguar too so I think it's hardware related somehow or PRAM (but I can't reset mine with the usual cmd+opt+P+R).

I tried resetting my PRAM. (cmd+opt+P+R) for 3 "Chimes" and now OS X.3 won't start up. It will just sit with the apple logo there....guess it fixed the power button problem though.
