There are dozens of sites with so called experts all guessing what the new ipad will be like. Many of these "experts" actually get well paud to play a guessing game. And its amazing how apple can keep thousands if employees from leaking the real deal. Retina no retina. Quad core no quad core. 8 mp camera 5 mp camera. 1080p no 1080p. Why doesnt apple just release the $&8?96g specs and stop the guessing bs? The march 7 date is even speculation.

Because by keeping quiet, they allow these dozens (more likely hundreds) of sites to fuel the speculation/discussion and generate tons of free publicity, which by the time the actual announcement comes, has turned the public crazy with anticipation. Apple knows exactly what they're doing and they do it better than anyone else.

I read the Mac Rumor forum for its entertainment, not for facts of any kind until the official announcement. Than I go back and read the Mac Forum afterwords for the anger that will surly come when some of the spec's that members wanted but did not materialize. ;) :p

Happened with the iPhone 4S guys.

I can see your concern, I used to feel the same way. But you forget- this is MacRumors.com: to fuel rumors is like- their duty.

I have a solution. Get off the internet for a few days, catch up on a good book. Maybe have some cookies and warm milk.

By the time the actual announcement comes, only the fanatics of the fanatics will have been disappointed by the whatever happens- believe it or not, outside of this little circle, things are performing at operational levels. Apple is having good business, people are happy with what they have.

And here's the best part, a vast majority do not believe the rumors! :)

For me, its fun to talk and speculate on these things but I never forget that they are just rumors and *every* year hardly anything said here is proven true... except the obvious things that are true about the refreshes every year.

ex: last year the blogsphere went crazy over an iPad 3, iPad 2 HD, iPad Nano, iPad Pro, or iPhone 5 with 4 screen" announced in October with Retina screen and LTE.

Does anyone know what MIC Gadget's track record is like?

I always get a good idea of who is full of crap (mostly everyone, Topolsky got called out for claiming the iPad 2 had a retina display). The only person I truly trust is John Gruber because he doesn't say anything unless he's sure of it. He's been suspiciously silent about the iPad 3 though... Maybe he knows too much and can't say.

Yep were must be getting closet as some are not able to take the pressure and going off the edge!
