I have a 2009 MBP. 13". 4 GB RAM. 2.26 GHz. 250 GB HD. Snow Leopard.

Two things:
A. The computer only shows 2 GB under memory when it actually has 4 GB (2x2) installed.
B. Sometimes after using, I close the lid. Upon opening, the computer does not wake from sleep. Nothing short of turning it off and restarting will work. When I restart the Mac, the gray screen comes on and the optical drive boots; then the computer shuts down for ~2 seconds, then reboots completely.

I have removed both sticks of RAM, and tested them in both slots. I have ran the AHT and reset the pRAM. I'm not sure what else to do. Any solutions or diagnosis would be greatly appreciated.

I couldn't tell you about the boot issue, but I'd check out the memory in the system profiler. That should tell you if there is an issue
