Very interesting. I always wondered how sound gets in and out of waterproof cases, via mics and speakers. How do they do it?!

The port hole window that reveals the Apple logo is what sold me: I will be able to tell when the phone is wet and take the appropriate measure

Why? Why do case designers put a cut out to show the Apple logo? It is tacky. It's not like an iPhone is so rare now a day that one feels compel to advertise the fact that it's an iPhone.

If there is a reason to show the logo, at least make it more interesting, say an apple tree, a lightning bolt cut out or any other shape other than a circle that everyone uses.

I'm waiting for this as well as the otterbox waterproof case. Lifeproof isn't all that for the iPhone 5.

Finally some Lifeproof alternatives next year in terms of waterproof iPhone 5 cases:
- Otterbox Armor (availability and price unknown, presentation at CES 01/08/2013)
- Seidio Obex (availability unknown, $80)
- Incipio Atlas (availability unknown, $80)

Definitely looks like a good case. The only thing that has me holding back is the silence switch needs to come off.

Going to wait and see how the otterbox armor and the atlas will be.

If the armor series and atlas have rainbowing and oil slick problems I will be picking this case up.
