Sierra fails to download printer drivers

I have a Brother HL-2280 printer, which has always functioned great in previous versions of OS X. I just go to System Prefs and add it over WiFi, then it automatically downloads the Brother driver. But now in Sierra, it does not check for online drivers. It just suggests "Generic PCL Printer".

I had the same problem with a Samsung printer. Just download the drivers from the manufacturers site and it'll work.
