Hi folks,
Need some help.
Recent shoot, did the usual and bought a 4TB Lacie Rugged Tbolt/USB-C drive to archive the footage for the client.
Formatted the drive to OSX Extended Journaled in Sierra as usual and transferred the footage to the drive.
All normal.

Two days later and the Lacie drive isn't recognized by the MBP (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD).
It is visible in DiskUtil as "disk2s1" but that's it.
Searching forums and YT it seems that it's a firmware/driver issue with Tbolt?

Today I try to format at Seagate 8TB archive drive in DiskUtil.
Format fails in OSX Journaled, fails to format in AFS, etc....
Details:
"MediaKit reports not enough space on device for requested operation"

Searching forums/YT I can see I'm not the only person to have HDD issues in Sierra/HSierra.
I assume someone else here has had these issues.
Can you suggest a solution?
At the moment the best solution I've seen is to create a Yosemite boot drive on a USB stick and boot into it to recover the Lacie 4TB.

Thanks.
