So My MacBook (mid 2007) Has a broken Superdrive. So I Went out and bought a $20 Toshiba External DVD Drive, it clearly says its compatible with mac, linux, and windows. The Drive works great in Mac OS X, But i wanna install windows with bootcamp, Boot Camp Assistant Sees the DVD Drive and even when it restarts the macbook is trying to boot off it. For some reason this is where the problem is, it won't boot off it. I Tried holding C, setting it as the boot drive in Mac OS X, and even holding down Option, and when holding down Option the DVD Drive doesn't appear in there. So I Installed rEFIT. When I Boot into rEFIT It sees the DVD Drive, and I Press Boot Windows on CD and it looks like its booting, but then it just goes to a flashing Dash and eventually says no boot drive available, I Tried booting from the EFI Version on the DVD in rEFIT and it just gives errors on rEFIT. I Don't want to get a built-in drive because they are double/triple the price of this External, and I Just ordered another MBP. I Just wanna use Windows on This MacBook to play some games. Any Ideas how I Can get windows Installed? I Don't wanna use virtualization.
