I called Apple earlier today so they could help me with a problem I was having with Time Machine. Basically I replaced a HDD by cloning the drive onto a new one, which caused Time Machine to be stupid and not backup the new drive because there wasnt enough space since the old backup was still there.

Apple couldnt tell me how to get rid of a specific backup, so I decided to just delete the whole thing (Time Machine backup folder) and start over. Deleting the folder took maybe half an hour. Then I added a partition to the drive I was using time machine for, which caused a grey tint to slide over my screen from the top down and tell me in many different languages that I had to turn off my computer.

Okay.... so I restarted and then tried to add a partition to the drive again. It hanged indefinitely 2/3 of the way through. Called Apple Care again and they told me to quit out of Disk Utility, which predictably caused problems with the drive (There was only one partition yet it seemed to think that the first partition had actually been shrunk to half its size.

So I backed up the folders and several hours later was able to erase the drive and start over. Done. Then I added a partition. Success!

Wait... one of the partitions is grayed out in the finder. WHY? Laptop died this morning, HDD ran into issues with this... not in the mood for more issues.
