£ sign access changed on MBP

Hi

I used to get the £ sign to appear on my MBP by using shift and the appropriated key, but now I have to use the option key. Can anyone shed any light on this please?

Is your keyboard still setup as the British Keyboard in System Preferences>International>Input Menu?

Hi eraserhead. Sorry not to reply before now but I forgot where I had posted this. Yes my keyboard is set up as you specifcy but still the problem is there
