So, if you view a full-screen picture in iMessage, it shows your status bar at the top.

Like this:

That's poor.

Thats because your screenshot is of your lock screen that you are viewing in the messages app. The size of the status bar on the lock screen, and elsewhere is different.

But yes, I agree. Full screen media viewer should not have the status bar to begin with.

Yes, I am aware of that. I'm just saying, there shouldn't be a status bar there at all.

You're just looking for petty reasons to complain now

Er, no I'm not. If you look at my post history, I'm not one to complain about stuff. But I do pick up on glitches and it's better to make them public, so it can be picked up on by others and fixed in an update.

That's the purpose of the bugs/glitches thread, but there doesn't seem to be one created on here yet for iOS8.

Try not to be so accusative.

I tried to go on the App Store to write a review for it but it tells me I need to have purchased or installed the app to write a review. Oh yeah, the continuity is great.

An update just came down for youtube, pretty sure it fixed this because I noticed it yesterday but appears to be gone now.

It's still there. It happens when I watch a video and switch from landscape to portrait then close the video and return to the main screen on YouTube or the previous screen.

I have to disagree with you. I am on YouTube every day and never noticed it even once on 7.1.2.

I just saw the youtube post, but I was responding to the OP. I remember seeing the status bar overlaid when watching videos and looking at pictures. Maybe I'm wrong.

It seems to me that there are two different issues here.

1. The one mentioned in the OP has been there since iOS 7.
2. The one in the YouTube app I was able to reproduce myself and it seems that after watching a video this happens. I think it's a bug with the YouTube app.
