Signal goes from 3g to "no service", stays stuck

I have been getting great 3G service in my area, but every so often it drops to no service for no reason and stays there. I then have to turn the phone off and back on to regain the full service. I took my SIM card in yesterday to AT&T yesterday and they switched it out, but it's doing it again this morning. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong or any way to fix this if you've experienced this.

similar problem! i think its just iphones bc whenever im at a low service area it changes from 3 bars to 1 bar or 2 bars to no bars and just keeps going back and forth! my friend says it happens on his old iphone too. but my dads curve from at&t doesnt do that.
