Recently downloaded a couple of apps to my Apple TV HD (Previous Gen) and when I try to log into those apps with my cable provider credentials, I get "Sign In Error. We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later." I get the same error if I try to use my cable provider credentials in the app on my iPad. If I deleted the app on my iPad, and log into the the apps website, in this case, Nat Geo TV, I am able to login and stream. Was on the phone with Cox for 3+ hrs this weekend for them to say it's an Apple issue, and honestly, it seems like it is. Both my iPad and Apple TV are up to date software wise.

Anyone else have this happen? Any thoughts on resolution?

Hello - did you ever figure out a solution for this? Having the same issue.

Try going to settings in IOS and scroll down until you see the line for 'TV Provider' (just above app list)and sign in there if it's not already. I had an issue like this a while back and that solved it. Somehow that got logged out and my apps on other devices weren't working correctly.

Yes I have tried that. On both my phone & Apple TV for weeks now I get ‘we are experiencing technical difficulties please try again later’. And of course Apple saying it’s a Cox cable issue & vice versa.

If it were an Apple TV issue the problem would likely happen with other providers. Just tried with Comcast and had no problems. So the probabilities I see, in decreasing order:

1. Cox problem
2. Nat Geo app problem
3. Apple TV problem

If you have access to someone else's apple tv/cox combination it might help diagnose the problem.

Hello!
I believe we figured it out. If you have two part authentication turned on for the online login- it has problems logging into the apps. Once we turned that off we stopped having problems

My workaround is, when the Apple TV asks if I want to use my cable provider login, I say "No". That will usually kick me to a screen that says, "Go to this website, enter this code, etc, etc, etc, to login with your cable provider". That has been a pretty good work around for me for the most part.
