Apple has always showed the animation of a person's thumb touching the far corners of the iphone's screen when holding it with one hand as a reason why they did not make a bigger screen.

Now in iOS 7 we are already seeing 2 new features which oppose Apple's stance

Slide to unlock: You can unlock the screen from anywhere now. It wouldnt matter if the screen was 4" or 19.5" inches. Grab whatever real estate that is convenient to you and slide away.

Slide from left edge to go "back": On the iPhone 5 it's already hard enough to reach for the back button at the top left corner of the screen when holding it one handed but now you can flick back from anywhere?

Thoughts?

None of those are signs a bigger iPhone is coming.

Neither of these things goes against "Apple's stance". In fact, both of these features make it easier for one handed use.

I think that may have been what he was getting at - making things easier to use with one hand would allow for that same "one hand comfort" Apple pushes, and would allow you to do that even with a larger phone.

I think its a little stretch, but an interesting idea
