Is there any easy way to silence everything that makes a sound (alerts, email, etc.) on the iPod while still allowing the alarm clock to make noise?

Apparently the iPhone has a "silent mode" that allows this functionality, but I'm not finding that on the iPod. Maybe I'm just not looking in the right place?

I used to have an ipod touch but i dont remember if it had the little stick on the side to silent , either if it does it will mute everything but the native alarm clock will override these when the time comes :)

Stick on the side? Do mean a button? No, there is no silencing button, and the alarm clock will not sound if you use the volume button to turn the device's volume all the way down.

Oh sorry , maybe search apple website to see if something come up or a fellow user here with device in hand can help out :(
